This plant put on a stunning display for me this year. Thought i would share a picture of it.
Alpine Sea Holly
That is lovely. What is its full name? It is far bigger and bluer than mine. Quite spectacular.
Mine has tiny flowerheads.
Do you use it for dried flower arrangements for the winter?
Inanda
A very unique and gorgeous flower, Marilyn. :)
We obviously have the same one, Lynn. Mine are also lying down - too many high winds I expect.
I MUST have this one.
Also found a huge echinops at the NALS design area. Called Miss Wilmott's Ghost. Have been promised seed from this one.
Any chance of seed from your sea holly, Trailing on.?
Inanda - shamelessy asking instead of going through catalogues.
Its full name is eryngium planum Alpinum "Blue Star".
The flower cone on top was about 3to 4" and the base was 5 to 6" and the flower is silky soft.
Yes i can share some of the seeds, i listed them under seed trading yesterday. I just harvested them yesterday. I am going out of town for a couple of days later today so if i don;t get back to you asap, please understand.
Have a great weekend.
Marilyn
