Hello Jeannie, Tx.

I am newbie to Texas Gardening., but your pictures are georgeous !! I am especially interested in the Plumeria.......
Tell me about it and would it grow in Rockwall, Tx., zone 7

I just moved here here from Georgia which was also in zone 7,
but the native Texas flowers and shrubs are what I would like
to know more about.

Your help appreciated, thk.'s

Heireloomhanna..
You can grow Plumerias BUT, they must be dug back up and stored in your garage during the winter and planted back out when the temps stay above 45-50*..This is the first year I directly planted it in my garden..I have had it in a pot for 4 years and just keep repotting it in a larger pot each spring...dig a hole the size of the pot and dropped it in for the season..welcome to Texas and you will be able to grow alot of what you did in Georgia and then some!!...Let me know if you ever need help with anything...glad you enjoyed a bit of my garden...Jeanne

Jeanne, is that zebrina banana in pic#4? Sure is tall, how old is that plant? Yours look almost as tall as hardy basjoo. Pretty amazing/

your garden is so beautiful!

Vossner..that is Musa Rojo Banana..I planted ONE Spring of '2004 and 4 pups died that I sent to friends..It had 5 babies this spring and has put about 4 more out..LOL..it's a grower...here is was this past February...I just cut the dead leaves off and let it rip!! I didn't whack it to the ground..this is a sad pic..LOL..I totally redone the pond/fountain and put in so much since that pic..

gorgeous, just gorgeus. I did whack mine in Dec/Jan. Was sweating bullets for a while (after reading I shouldn't have done that) but they cam back happy and bigger, just not as big as yours.

If you can stand it..leave the ugly brown leaves on it this winter..it kinda protects(insulates) the trunk..then when the freeze/frost period is over just cut all the dead leaves off..
