~Laurrie

It has that look of being Fresh and Healthy...
Smell good too???

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Congrats, Shirley, to you and CC!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Now that is a girlie girl brug. Look at the sway of her skirt. Just great you 2!!!.

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Never heard of 'Lake Effect' but with butterfly's genes, surely it smells as good as it looks.
you go girl!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks everyone!

She's a real trooper in this terrible heat wave that we're having! She doesn't wilt and her leaves hold up well in the wind. Insects don't seem to bother her too much either. I only spray if I absolutely have to!

Her perfume is a delight in the nighttimme air. I'm also enjoying her flouncy skirt and "long legs" too! :~) "Lake Effect" is a working name that Crestedchik chose.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Very pretty, Shirley and Karyn. Great looking flower.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

She is a beaut!! Congrats to you both!
I wish I could sniff her too...
Do you have a pic of the LE bloom?
What a great job you guys have done!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Shirley & Karyn, you've got a winner there, it's stunning!!! I agree with Blaine, with Butterfly you can't go wrong !

OMGosh!!!!! I am in LOVE, CC that is beautiful! She must have some great genes!!! I love how she puffs out in her blooms, and the pure white clean color, thanks for sharing that, I'm totally in awe!

Lovely!

Karyn, Julie is dead-on with that description of LE. She is really awesome, thanks for posting. Terrific blooms, and the perfect name. I am reminded of what we have to look forward to, Lake Erie and Ontario struttin' their stuff!
(Now I am really sad that I lost the cutting you sent me, lol.)

Great genes, Julie, is right-o! Congrats again to CC and Shirley.

The reason I named it lake effect is cause it just keeps coming
Its the only brug I have that has bloomed constantly since spring....non stop
Sometime big flushes....sometimes 4 or 5 at a time
Kinda like the gifts we get from The Great Lakes

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

What do the leaves look like?

I love the calyx........

How's it taking the heat?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And you didn't even kill it CC, that counts for its great survival instinct!! I love LE!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks CC for posting a picture of "Lake Effect". Love those pure white blooms....like the driven snow!

She is standing up to this awful heat & heat humidity like a trooper! No wilting like some of my other Brugs are experiencing!! She is withstanding low to mid 90's with 100% humidity! Sort of like living in a sauna!!

I don't remember her leaves being as serrated or as dark as this year. Take a look for comparison.

CC Lake Effect is gorgeous! so many whites out there, but this takes your breath away!

Shirley: I love the last picture, stunning!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I love that last picture too!!!!!
Impressive!!!!!

We have been having high heat and humidity here too
very unusual for this area
LE has impressed me sooo much and I'm glad her genes came out in your baby!!!!!

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

CC - glad I came back in or I'd have missed LE. They remind me of looking down on an inflated parachute or hot air balloon where it looks full and taught yet cushy at the same time. Looks like a pure white color too.

So is LE a seedling you've grown out and kept around? I don't think I've seen or heard of it before of course I have a very short history with brugs anyway. :)

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Same question here, I just love LE!!! Wanna hear more about it please :)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Congratulations, Shirley and Karyn! She is truly lovely.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Shirley & Karyn ...again, I'll extend my congrats to the both of you on a great cross! Very lovely!

CC, have you released Lake Effect yet? I've heard of it most definetely but I can't remember if it was trialing or if I saw it in one of the Forums.. If so, where can one acquire one, a nursery somewhere or do you know of anyone who has it? She's simply gorgeous.

Beautiful pink blooms. Congrats to both of you.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

LE is a seedling from seeds I recieved in a trade on another site5 or 6 years ago
I never even planted them for 2 years
Finally planted them, and she was the best one
This is her 3rd year
The seed packet said Aurea X and some numbers, tried to find the person who sent them to me but no luck

I have been told that since I do not know the parents I can not register her
I do not want to start a war over letting out cuttings of an unregistered brug
But it obviously came from good genes so I use it for breeding
Excellent bloomer, not a bug magnet, has bloomed non stop all thru this record breaking heat(infact right now is the fist I've seen it with no bloom, but it does have a bud)grows quickly, deals well with temperature extreams, blooms don't brown as quick as many whites, excellent pod parent..........

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

CC, she's so pretty. I don't blame you for using her to pollinate with other Named one's. I'm sure with the genes of this one you've posted and another named one with good genes, you'll have a winner and hopefully just as worthy as this one you've posted about.

I was told once I couldn't register one that you didn't know the unknown parent of but did know the other parent. Well guess what lol...I CAN!!! Haven't found that to be the case with me yet but who know's...I'm sure there's alot out there right now, I just don't know the names of them. But the point being...you just go for it, and hope for the best right? :0)

CC, I send out cuttings of my brugs all the time and none are registered. Who would care and why would they?? And if they do, why would I care. LOL

I say, if you want to register her, go ahead!!! You are just registering the name, not really the brug. So why can't you even if you do not know either parent? Why would it matter?? I bet Sue will know the real rules. I can see where you should be the seedling parent to register a brug but I do not even know if that is a rule.

PS: Lake effect is too pretty not keep her alive. You need to send her out. She is so white and such a nice shape. It would be too sad for her to disappear.

PSS: and you best send her out fast with your claim to fame. No offense. LOL

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

ditto what Kell said, I am in total agreement, perhaps Sue can help with an answer

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

I bet Sue will totally agree that you should register her CC. And when you do....May I be the first beggar for a cutting ???? LOL ahem....I'm laughing but I'm not kidding LOLOL

Huggles
Julie
