CountryB,
How do you keep the deer from eating your hollyhocks? I have planted them from seed, started seedlings etc. and they always chomp them down and I never get them grown. I love these and have had them at my second home, one of the first things I grew. Just wondered if you have that problem.

Kingston, GA(Zone 7b)

Janet, I do normally have alot of deer problems but they have never bothered my hollyhocks. Knock on wood--this year the deer haven't been quite as bad as in past years when they would completely destroy my vegetable gardens and eat on all my hibiscus, camellias, azaleas, hostas, and aucuba. I have started hanging windchimes, AOL disks in the trees, and other things to try scaring them off. Have even put tomato cages around the smaller plants. The deer bed down in my small grown up pasture all the time and will even cross my front yard in broad daylight. Do you need some Black Hollyhock seeds to try again? Email me and LMK.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks for the offer. I have some from another trade. I will try them again, but so far it has been a disater! Our deer are also out all day and night here. They are not timid. LOL
