Hi winnie :-)

I had to look this one up....this is what I found. Can't find the parentage on the plant but Barbara had it also or grew it out....check this link out about her.

Jutner Orange=Charles Grimaldi and Dr. Seuss=Rapture

he above is what I acquired from the Search back in 2002, this was what was stated. That would be why it's so pretty, I love the color and CG and Dr. S is great one's!

Thanks all, I have two CG AND ds also. I have about twenty in all . This is the only one I left in a pot. With all this dry weather and me not watering as I should. They look pretty droopy.

Rapture is a brug that I named several years ago. Earl had it listed on ebay as "never been seen on ebay before" He showed an icredibly beautiful picture of "never been seen on ebay before". It had pinks and yellows and oranges in the flower. As American collectors we had never seen such a pretty flower. Too pretty to be called "never before seen on ebay". I made a huge trade with him for lots of this new brug. He gave me permission to name it Rapture which was part of his email address. I marketed Rapture immediately without ever having seen the flowers first hand. When it finally did flower it looked like Dr. Seuss and Grimaldi. Earl never did market it as Rapture. He decided it was Dr. Seuss. The Dr. Seuss Earl sells today is the same as Rapture from the old days.
I learned a valuable lesson about camera lighting and environmental differences.

I don't know anything about orange Rapture

Celina, TN(Zone 6b)

I don't know anything about any of them. I got all these cuttings back in the winter. I only know there is a lot of TLC that has to be given to them. I babied them all winter and now all this dry weather. I am just not able to give them all the care they need. Here is a close up of it.

Wow winnie, look at the POLLEN on that brug, wowowow! Got fetch your Q-tip and start grabbing it off into some wax paper and ziplock bag it up and freeze it....some of us are having a hard time getting that stuff these days LOL...It so puffy! I love this! She's gorgeous...

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

It's beautiful! Definitely not Rapture. It looks pink! Is it really orange?

Julie "Jutner Orange=Charles Grimaldi and Dr. Seuss=Rapture" is not the parentage. It means JO and CG are the same and Dr. Seuss is the same as Rapture

Here's where I got it from...

A long time ago honey and before anyone realized the importance the environment can have on brug flowers. We are still learning this lesson. That is why it is not a wise decision to id a flower from pictures unless there is something about that particular brug that sets it apart from others.

That's a rog Vicki, Amen! I totally believe that too. Where one reacts in the conditions of a zone another zone would be different so it's hard to tell what they are unless the characteristics are like none other out there. :-))))

It is exactly the color shown. Pollen is beyond me BA. I can try and get you some if you want.

Maybe the person you got the cutting or plant from accidentally got the tags switched and they can help you out?

Thank you for the pollen offer winnietn :). I'm just not into hybridizing right now. I'm sure there are others that might be interested.
