CLOSED: HAVE: Large Oriental Lily bulbs-Large white with yellow band

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

I have extras of a beautiful Oriental that I bought 3 bulbs of from Lowes a few years ago and they have reproduced very well. This spring I divided them and replanted 13 softball sized bulbs, after giving a few away! They're 4-6' tall, have huge white out-facing blooms with a lemon yellow band down the center of each petal, and are very fragrant. I don't remember the name on the package, but have had so many that were mislabled from Lowes that I would'nt swear to it even if I did!

Would like to trade bulb for bulb for other Orientals in pink or red shades. I'm also interested in trumpet varieties and Orienpets. For that matter, I just love lilies, so if you have extras of any kind and are interested, let me know. Since these are nice, big, blooming sizes bulbs (some had 15 blooms!), I'd like to trade for other blooming sized bulbs. I'll be digging them in October when the foliage and stems have browned. Thanks, Neal.

Neal,
I would love to trade with you again! I will have to see what orientals I have. I moved so many last year, I didn't have good blooming season this year. I am sure I can find you something though.

Would you be interested in one or two naked lady bulbs?

Winnie,
What are naked ladies? I have heard so many people use that term and I am not sure what they look like. I also hear "surprise lily" a lot..are they the same thing? Do you have a picture?

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

If you can tell me how / when to dig up the bulbs I would be glad to trade some of mine here is a picture when they were in bloom.. BTW that is my family wishing me happy birthday I was in Prague at the time so the focus is not the Lillys but I hope you can get an idea of the size the yellow ones are just over 5' and the pink ones are about 3' They have been in for 3 years so I am sure there is something I should be doing.

Naked ladies and suprise lilies are the same thing. I have tons of those, so I won't be looking for any more, but let me know if you think of something else you may have.

Janet, I'd love to trade again! Just let me know when you have an idea what you've got extras of. Thanks, Neal.

Will do! I will check things out and dmail you later. How have you been doing? Did you Calla's do well? I would love a picture if you have one of the things I sent that did well. I have to go and get some things done, will check back with you later...GREAT to hear from you!

Wow, those are beautiful! I have one that I call a naked lady, but it doesn't get very tall, maybe just 8""-10" it has grass like foilage and then a small but very pretty pink flower...here is a picture of it..I am not sure now if I am calling it by the right name...

It has single stemmed flower no multiples, I don't think I have any of the type you posted. Do you know the name of the one I have?

JanetS,
Naked Ladies and Surprise Lilies are the same thing. They have daffoldil like foliage in the spring, then it dies down. In late July or August the stems with the blooms come up. It seems like they do this overnight!
The plant you have pictured looks like the little rain lilies to me.

Neal, checked the lily beds and found that I can spare you [2] of Contrast O/P and [2] of Razzle Dazzle C/P
Let me know what you decide.
Would assume for the 4 bulbs I would receive 4 of your white/gold lily. Correct??

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

Neal, I have extra stargazer and x-otica lilies to spare. Let me know if your interested.

Have 3 for three-mine are large pink-name unknown bloomed this year.Shirley

Janet, everything you sent grew beautifully! The crocosmias are blooming their hearts out, the pink calla looked like porcelain, the bee balm bloomed and is different from the red I already had, and the white callas have grown well. I think your lovely pink flowers are rain lilies(zephranthes). I have lots of suprise lilies(naked ladies, Lycoris sprengeri) if you'd like some of those to. And that goes for any of you out there!

Old rose, I love those yellow trumpets! I'd be thrilled to trade for some of those. Just D-mail me and let me know how many you can spare.

Maxine, Razzle Dazzle and Contrast both sound great! I recognize both names, but can't remember the colors. If you can describe them for me, that would be great-I'm very interested!

Kathyvm, I'm interested in x-otica and would love a description-another name I recall, but can't remember the color.

Marclay, I think my supplies may be exhausted after the above trades, but I won't know for sure until we all settle on quantities. You're next in line though as soon as I know.

Thank you all for your interest!

I would love to trade with you...all I have right now are Amaryllis, the leaves are very long right now. Let me know if you are interested.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Maxine that contrast O/P looks like my "pink ones". what is the O/P?? Oh I would love to know what I planted I always say I am going to keep track but it hasn't happened yet.

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Orienpet means a cross between a oriental and a trumpet if I remember right. If I'm wrong someone will jump in correct me.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Maxine you're absolutely right and your lilies are lovely! I'm so excited! Thanks for sharing the pics.
