Butterflies are in full force here.

The monarchs must have all arrived this week just in time for the milkweed.

I took the net off of the blueberry bushes this week. It's created an opportunity for some great birdwatching. I watched a cedarwaxwing swallow a berry and watched it slide down it's neck! So I ran to the house to get my camera. But this catbird was my only taker.

Great pics!! What type of milkweed are you growing? It's very pretty!

hmmm. It's a wild one. It grows in the fields. Can anyone ID?

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

How nice for you to have it grow wild. I went to MilkweedFarms to see if I could ID it, and their site is gone! But maybe this one is it?

Even tho it's called "common" I think it's beautiful. There are much uglier ones with prettier names. I am definitely going to have to plant some different varieties next year. I like my A. curassavica but am ready for something with a different look.

You're lucky
1. to get the beautiful wings in your yard
2. you're in MA... otherwise I'd have been over in those fat blueberries

Great pictures! I love the cat bird with the blueberry. One of my dogs used to eat as many of my blueberries as I did.
Thanks for sharing
