Praline Cheesecake

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

I baked this tonight, my DH's birthday..asked him what kind of cake he wanted..he didn't miss a beat "your praline cheesecake of course".

Thought I'd share the recipe

The crust:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
3 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup corse-to-fine chopped pecans
5 Tablespoons melted butter
Heat oven 350*
in a large bowl measure out crumbs, sugar and pecans
pour melted butter and cut in with fingers till mixture is crumbly

press into a 9 inch springform pan
Bake @ 350* for 10 minutes

The cake:
3 8oz packages of Kraft Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese --kraft only
1& 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
1/4 cup sour cream
2&1/2 Tablespoons flour
3 eggs
1&1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts

While crust is baking:

Combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, sour cream & flour
Mix at med speed on electric mixer until well blended
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition
Blend in vanilla and nuts
Pour mixture over the crust
Bake @ 350* for 50-55 minutes
Loosen cake from rim of pan, then cool before removing the rim.

Chill.

You can drizzle maple syrup on top of the cake slices before serving. Since maple syrup is hard to come by in this neck of the swamps, I use cane syrup.
Sometimes when I have time, I make a praline sauce to drizzle on top, didn't have time tonight..

enjoy!
