Sorry the picture is not good. These bugs run from the camera and hide under the leaf. I'm lucky I was able to get a picture at all.
This was a Carolina Sphinx (tobacco hornworm) egg. A group of these bugs camped out on the leaf and this one bug in particular stuck close to this egg. The egg died and the bugs left. I can only assume she murdered it.
Any ideas what the bug could be?
