Okay, so I know it's August, but a couple of these chili threads are getting my hungry! It's not all that hot here anyway, so I might have to whip up a batch. I have a very simple way of making chili: canned beans, frozen corn, some tomato something (from a can, maybe supplemented with fresh tomatoes I need to use), canned olives, seasoning-- basically it's good for cleaning out the pantry and maybe the fridge. Sometimes we make it with ground beef or some other kind of meat.
But after watching the Food Network, I realized that my way is perhaps unusual in the chili world-- maybe not even counting as chili at all by some. So how do YOU make chili? It would be interesting to see if it's different in different parts of the country.
