This is a different plant that often has doubles.

Wow! Did you grow it from seed, or was it a cutting?

Pretty pictures, Betty.

Very pretty Betty....a pink double, WOW !!! Very different than the other newer pink doubles I have seen photos of! Do you know the name of it?

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

These are plants (or from cuttings of a plant) that I bought at a nursery about 6 years ago. I added two others one is white and the other is a pink. Every year I root cuttings. I guess I have twenty or more.
I am new to brugs I had no idea how many varieties there were until I found DG. I have soooo much to learn.
Now I need to order more plants and learn to pollenate my own.

Betty...if you can wait about a month or so...many of us will have cuttings that we can send you! It would be after the fall blooms and before getting ready to store them for the winter!

Remind me and I will send you some!

I don't know the name of the double, It will only have a few blooms that are doubles the rest are single. This one plant is the only one that I have that will produce a double.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

That would be wonderful!! I have a small GH that I fill pot to pot in the winter. DH is so patient.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

picabo, that double pink is lovely. How long has it been doing that for you? If available, I would love a cutting of that. Maybe I have something you would like to trade.

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Very nice. You might want to keep your address secret. From what I've seen a double pink can cause near hysteria. :)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Betty...I too would love a cutting of your pink double....maybe when I send you cuttings!?

Thanks, Margie

Lordy, Betty, I know you are going to be overwhelmed, but I'd love a cutting too. I will, also, be willing to send you any of my cutting you might like, even if you do not have a cutting of that beautiful double pink available. Is she fragrant??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I love your pictures. Very pretty! Looks like you will have all kinds of varieties very soon! LOL

Ozark, AL(Zone 8b)

I'll bet! I just had to offer her some rarities myself.
To think, we've had an american double pink hiding in a back yard for years? Astounding!!

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Thank you all, I really didn't realize this was special. I will keep watch on the other plants for another double.

LOL, Lagata. I bet we would all be very surprised at what people who never heard of the online brug world grow in their backyards with no help from any of us. I bet some beauties.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Betty, she's pretty...very pretty!

picado, do you have photos of your other brugs, I'd love to see them too....

The pics are beautiful!! I love the delicate ruffles to your pinks. I am very new to brugs and am enjoying all the different looks and varieties.

Betty,

Your double pink looks GREAT!! From I can see in your picture it looks like a suaveolens type brug. I am by no means an expert, but I don't know of any suaveolens type doubles. Most of the time the doubles are x. candidas flora plena. I would love to set up a trade if possible.

What beautiful Brugs you have!!

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Thank you for all of the compliments. I've spent most of the day baby sitting, Haven't had much catch up time.

The other flowers on the plant that the double was on do have a very heavy night fragrance. The buds are yellow with a tinge of pink. I think that they open cream and turn pink, Sorry I haven't really noticed. There are always cream, almost peach and pink flowers on the plant. Right now there are at least twenty flowers open, (I know Calif that is nothing for you.. LOL). There are at least four shades. Don't tell me this is different.

The double flower is usually not nearly as pretty as this one. This one was curled on the back. I shot the photo from the pretty side.

I don't know the name of the plant. The first I bought came from a nursery. They said it was an angel trumpet. Thats what I called it until my neighbor told me it was really a Brug. I bought the other two at an estate sale. A white and another pink.

I have decided to wait until fall to start taking cuttings and mark where the double flowers bloom. I have never thought that this was different from the ones everyone else has and haven't really noticed if there is a bloom pattern. I don't want to give away all of the doubles. I am listing names in the order that they come for cuttings.

Hope I have answered all of your questions.

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

OK.. Might as well get my name on the list :) Although I certainly don't want you to butcher your baby beyond repair. I have three named brugs all pinks that I will swap if you would like.

New Hyde Park, NY(Zone 7a)

I'd like to go on list to if possible, very beautiful flower.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Thank you for thinking of the plant. I always butcher pretty badly every fall to store for winter. Too many plants and too little room. Most cuttings go in a bucket and take their chance at rooting, Nice to have someone wanting a cutting in the fall. Friends are always eager for the rooted cuttings in the spring not usually for the Fall cuttings.
