I know you can use sage in dressing, anything else? My sage seems to have sort of a bitter taste and I am not sure how to use it effectively in my cooking.
Also does anyone use the tips of their Hop Vine in cooking? I read today that they can be cooked and eaten. I would like to try this. The article I was reading said this was like a Belgian specialty.
How about the hops themselves - can you use them in anything other than brewing? - They are extremely bitter.
Sage/Hop Tips
Grikdog, I love sage with pork. It's very good with any rich meat. I either just sprinkle it on the outside of the meat finely chopped, or add it to apple sauce- my favorite with pork chops or pork sausages. An infusion of sage is the best thing for a sore throat- use it as a gargle.

Got it! I love pork. I'll try the sore throat remedy.
Thanks
Huh! Sage apple sauce with pork.... sounds delicious! Thanks for the tip, Maggi!
It seems to me I recently saw a reference to pasta with "sizzling sage butter sauce" or something like that.... I could see frying a few sage leaves in butter and drizzling that on some pasta for a side dish....
I have such a lovely Bergarten sage from Bassetmom, and I'd love more suggestions on how to use it other than simply admiring the plant on my deck!
