Herrenhauser Gartens x unknown pinks H-Larry Locklin SP-me.
Larry sent these to me as large seedlings that have not flowered yet. . They were beauties when I received them. They got a terrible mite problem the same as everyone has had this year and the struggled for awhile. I cut the tops of of them and threw them away. I scrubbed the plant with my fingers and water. And repotted with fresh soil. That was two months ago. They are beautiful again. I'm so looking forward to seeing these flowers. I just know they will be tomato red quadruples!

Wouldn't that be great if you did get tomato red quadruples! Nice come back, you really did something they liked, they're really lush green and healthy Vicki! Wow the 2nd pic shows the huge thick trunk on that baby too. Good job!
I'll be awaiting to see something on this thread soon in the color tomatoe red in quad's!!
Congrats
Julie
very nice growth... way to go
When I cut the tops off of the plants new stems sprouted on each side of the old stem. :)
They look great. I will be cutting off some thrip damaged points tomorrow, and I hope to be half as lucky as you are. Your hard work and love really paid off!
oh, those look GREAT Vicki - I sprayed my badly infested brugs with Avid - TWICE in one week. I saw the little (*$#@ back again 3 days after the first spray - I think where I went wrong is I didn't take the time to pull the tall ones over on their sides and really give them a good bath before spraying - I just hoped the spray would kill them but it didn't. So the second time I got rough - I ripped off all the remaining leaves that showed lots of damage and turned the power nozzle on all the rest of it -- then I sprayed again. On the worst one (Dr. Seuss) I totally stripped it of the its last remaining dozen or so leaves. It's been 2 days now and so far they are lookin good and already throwing out new leaves. Let us pray it is over for this year!

Water will work. I've cut the tops off of some, and totally stripped other plants without cutting the tops off, .... both ways worked just great. I hope it works for you too!
Well they're nice seedlings but the way everyone talks about HG being stingy on the bloom, I hope they don't pick up anything more than the multi-bloom gene.
I'm still hoping I pull a hat trick and the one I stomped in the compost pile bloomed. It's growing and thumbing it's nose at me. A Dr. Seuss that was also skanked up got stomped in at the same time and the goofy thing has had 2 flushes just tick me off.
Good for you! That Brug is putting out a lot of new growth and the leaves look nice and healthy. I think it would really appreciate being moved up into a larger pot and let that Brug grow, grow, grow... while the temps are hot & tropical feeling!!!
Good luck with this cross. HG is definitely one of the harder Brugs to get to flower!
Herrenhauser is not one that loves heat and humidity which is one of the reasons it does not flower like we all wish it would. Keeping my fingers crossed for an improvement of HG that loves Florida and flowers heavily. Fat chance but Never say never. Hope I don't put the white curse on Larry's babies!
