I'm sure the rest of you have figured out you can order free shipping supplies from the USPS website. I guess I'm a little slow at catching on to that. LOL Before I ordered boxes though....I was wondering what are some of the most common sizes you all use? Thanks so much! Jenny
USPS free shipping supplies question
I like the long triangle boxes, and I sometime have a hard time finding them here, so that is the reason I stock pile on those. They are great for sending mature plants.

I keep both sizes of the triangle tubes, both sizes of the flat rate and both sizes of the priority rectangles on hand. I normally have the big sqare ones as well and need to get more ordered. I mail out a lot and having the variety on hand is very helpful.
I went to the USPS website but didn't find any mention of the triangular boxes. Any ideas on how to order them? Thanks.
Priority-Express Mail Tube Here they are. I just found them. Last page of Shipping Supplies

I use box #7 and box #4, as well as the "shirt" boxes (1055 or something) and the wider video boxes as well as the mail tubes and flat rate boxes.
Don't forget to order your free labels too. Until about a year ago, you could order free tape too. Glad I stockpiled before they quit that.
Ok, I can't find the labels!!! Can someone post a link to them?
Thanks
Janis

I keep quite a bit of 4 or 5 diff sizes. both of the long triangle tubes, the biggest square l2xl2 I think, these sizes might be wrong, I like the long flat boxes, the two largest sizes, I ship even the small plants in them, because it just ships better than shipping in those tiny 1 pound priority boxes.
I found them :)
Sorry
And don't forget the free delivery confirmation address lables!

Speaking of Flat Rate boxes (glad you started this thread, Jenny), what IS the "flat rate?" I always get the Priority square and rectangle boxes, and order this size because I liked it. But, don't know what on earth the flat rate is??!
=) MKJ
p.s. Your canna bloomed a lovely deep, deep orange/red. VERY pretty and distinct.
I had to go to the post office today to mail a box, so I asked the lady about some of this stuff. She told me the flat rate was $7.70. She also pointed out that if the box isn't going very far...like to the next state, it's cheaper to pay per pound....unless it's really heavy. But if it's going across the US, then it's always cheaper to go flat rate.
I'm just so excited about the free supplies. I really had no idea. I happened to see it on the USPS website this morning when I was doing a click n ship. I'm forever saving boxes I receive, and sometimes even buying boxes. Sure makes this all alot easier. Seems like everyone uses quite a variety of sizes too.
Jenny
MKJ, glad you like the canna. :o) That's the only color I'm left with. Did a few trades, and I'll be getting some other colors very soon. We had an unexpected freeze late in the spring, and I lost my assorted colors.
Well, Jenny, let me tell you, I turned out to have QUITE the canna addiction, so when I need to thin, I'll let you know what I've got! =)
Kathleen
Oh, and thanks for the flat rate info! I love the size of that little box..........=)
Thanks Kathleen. ;o) Jenny
