Hi-
I've been wondering if your lily isn't the lycoris sprengeri? It sure has a blue tint in it...

My regular squamigera don't have any blue in them. Just solid pink.

I really like the blue Ü

seedpicker_TX: That is indeed L. squamigera. Mine have a blue tint too, which varies somewhat. http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/72498/ Here's a closeup:

ok, so the sprengeri must have a LOT of blue...

I have the squamigera and they are solid pink with no blue. I also have some sprengeri, but they've not bloomed, yet...so haven't been able to compare...

The blue tint on Lycoris squamigera does vary... on mine it shows on the buds and when the flowers first open but then fades to pink only as the flowers age, especially with exposure to sun. It might also vary between bulbs depending on their source or perhaps with soil conditions (just guessing).
Yes, L. sprengeri does have a more intense blue color. Also the height is shorter and the flowers are smaller than L. squamigera. If yours does bloom please add the picture to PF as there is only one now. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/81873/index.html

...will do. Ü

I'm anxious to see the sprengeri bloom. Didn't realize they'd be smaller blooms, but really interested in seeing how blue they are.

Thank you for your input.
