Copper mobile

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

This is a closeup of the copper mobile that I had mentioned in the trellis posting. A friend was given a smaller version of this mobile. His was made out of PVC pipe and elbows. I reproduced it in copper. All of the one half inch diameter copper pieces are 4.5 inches long. Twelve pieces of pipe and twelve elbows are required. I soldered all of the pieces together. I also soldered a small copper wire loop at the top to suspend it. I use a six inch long stainless steel fishing swivel/leader to hang the mobile. All of this sounds simple until you start the assembly. I thought that I would go mad before I finally got it right!
As the mobile slowly revolves in a breeze it produces at least eight patterns when viewed from a short distance.
