OT - The Power of New Growth

I just had to share. This little (OK, plastic) table beside the Bamboo stand held 6 pots of hoyas. 2 days ago I grinched at Bob for throwing the table over while mowing...and then I saw...NO! It was a bamboo shoot that came up from below the table and it was A- over Teakettle for everything on it. The lowest leg is 15" off the ground. The bamboo shoot grows (I kid you NOT, cross my heart) 1 foot per day!!! Yes...it is edible but only cooked and who could eat a stirfry that big. Easily available at the market. I totally believe in the 'urban' legend of torturing/killing a man by tieing him down over a bamboo shoot. ARGGGGG

Just goes to show you that truth really is as good as fiction...believe it or not, lol!!!

When the culms are longer, I start to bend them down...and when they are horizontal I hang pots of hoyas from them. Looks like spokes on a big wheel!!! Thank goodness it is a clumper and not a runner!!!
