Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

This is what happens when it rains everyday and is very humid. Roots growing in the air.

Rain?? What's that? We keep getting forecasts of rain, but it never happens...

I've notice a carnosa that I have outside having longer roots than normal on some of the stems, but nothing like that! Very cool...thanks for sharing!

This is the happy time of year for my heat and humidty loving hoya as well. I'm not getting as many blooms as I did in the spring but they are growing like weeds right now.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

They are funny with their little rootlets sticking out trying to grab something, aren't they.!!!!

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

We're also in our summer storms and humidity season, while it's miserable for us humans, my plants are loving it!!

I'd say.......but if the hoyas are happy, it makes Florida weather much more bareable.

It looks lovely and healthy. Do you hang all your hoyas outside for the summer rylaff?

Yep, they stay outside most of the year. They only come in for a short time, when the tempature drops.

Aberdeen, NC

You are lucky to be able to keep them out that long!! I know my hoyas are growing like crazy in this steamy heat.
In Oct. though, I will have to take them inside when it starts getting into the 50's at night. I can only keep mine out for about 5 months. I like your grabber roots !! They look like they would be lethal on wood. LOL

Ohhhhhh I would love a little bit of that rain.

Mandeville, LA(Zone 9a)

I'm in southeast Louisiana. My hoyas are sticking themselves to the side of the house with "air roots". You are welcome to some of the rain....as well as the hummingbird sized mosquitoes that come with it. The plants are in heaven but I can't go outside to enjoy them without being sucked dry by giant mosquitoes!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I know, we have gotten downpours every single day for over a week. My yard is a bog.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

We usually don't get rain from May through October and this year has been the hottest summer in many years.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

OH dear, Patricia...so sorry to hear that. This summer has been the wettest and coolest in a long time...the ground, where they is some soil is boggy!!! This past winter was a drought...from one extreme to the other!!!

Mandeville, LA(Zone 9a)

rylaff...same here. Every afternoon it pours and then the sun comes blasting out. It's like a sauna.

Rockledge, FL(Zone 9b)

I dont mind the rain and humidity everyday, its the lightning thats the killer. No pun intended.

We have been having a hot summer in CA, and you guys in Florida don't have the monopoly on mousquitos this year. We don't usualy have that many, unless you're in someones yard who waters too much, but this year they're everywhere!
