Ridley Creek State Park

Brookhaven, PA(Zone 7a)

My DH kids and I went on a nature walk yesterday -- there is a paved path around the creek (suitable for bikers, walkers, and 3 year olds, ect) and here's what we found -- don't ask me to ID them -- I'll tell ya- "It's a BUTTERFLY" LOL!!!!

First we'll go to the cafe...

Nice pictures! Your first butterfly is a Silver-spotted Skipper Epargyreus clarus http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/distr/lepid/bflyusa/pa/607.htm
The two butterflies taking a mud bath could be Spicebush Swallowtails Papilio troilus http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/distr/lepid/bflyusa/pa/mor716.htm
and the one in the middle of the road is a Red Admiral Vanessa atalanta
"OK - not a butterfly" is a damselfly, but I cannot tell you which one.

looks like you and family had a great afternoon out. Great pics

They really did-- but of course when Pop-pop asked them that night-- all they remembered were the ducks! LOL!!! DH kept getting tired of me stopping - but they are little so i kept stopping to point out things to them. He likes to take in nature as a whole- I'm a teacher --- I HAVE to stop and point out the little things to show the kids how everything weaves together....
