I am wondering when I might expect this first first brug to Y. I started it from a cutting about Dec. and it seems to be growing and was so hoping to see it bloom this year but I don't think it is. I am so new to Brugs and this was my very 1st and am so envious of all of your beautiful plants. Maybe I can get some advice on what I might be doing wrong. Also how is the best way to overwinter here in my zone.
Here is the first picture of my first cutting I was told was Whispers.
Need Advice

Hi vswilliams :-)
I'm no expert by any stretch of the way but I have an Adora and I Adore her lol! Anyhow, it didn't take long for her to Y...looks like both of your's are on their way to a Y now...I can't really see one at the angle you have your pic but mine once it got about 3-4 foot she was y'ing and I couldnt stop her....Your plants must love love love what you're doing to them cos' they look so vibrant and healthy! Feed them, and feed them and then feed them some more lol...they are heavy feeders! Good job and keep us all posted of their progression.
Hugs
Julie
Thanks so much for your kind words, I have been just winging it and reading so many of the posts in this forum and hoping some of your wisdom will rub off on me....I had started the adora from seed but the whispers was from a cutting that I received last fall and really killed it but was able to re root the cutting and so far it has been growing..Here is another view of the whispers. I really appreciate all your help and will keep updating as they grow.
Thanks for your help
Vickie
You're welcome Vickie, I'm trying to wake up so if I don't make sense yet it's cos' my brain isn't jogged yet LOL...
*yawn*
Do you mean 'Whisker's'?? I'm not sure I've heard of 'Whisper's'....guess there could be one out there name that but it's so close to 'Whisker's' in that it sounds so much alike.

It seems to take forever for the first buds to form, doesn't it?!! I FINALLY have 2 Brugs forming buds but the rest look like yours. I am getting sooooo impatient, but then we DO still have a couple months before temps drop too much for them!! I expect them to be larger next year faster?? We'll see I guess. I think the ones that flower so early must be because the owners dig them and pot them up inside and keep them growing all winter?? I know the ones left in the ground in these cooler zones have to be cut to the ground and protected over Winter. They grow from new wood in Spring--fairly rapidly too! Bonnie
Your right I misspelled it Whisker's is the name but that she told me it was but not sure what it will look like or what color, thanks Julie for catching it..
So right Bonnie I am so impatient when it comes to waiting for the first bloom. It seems all my flowers this year have bloomed about 3 weeks later than they did in past years and not sure why, maybe because it just has been soooo hot and not much at all in rain fall.
Thanks
Vickie
