Willing to accept a SASE? Would like seeds or tubers.I'm looking for the fuscia.
Looking for 4 o'clock's
I have Fushia, I will try to gather some seeds for you, if you like.
Josephine.
Thank you frostweed. That's so sweet of you. You can get my add. somewhere on here, I can't remember where I posted it. There's so much to look at.
Tried to pull up Fushia four o'clock and could not find it. What color is it?
Oh frostweed, I'm sorry. I had another "senior" moment. I will send you the SASE! The fushia is the real hot pink/red one. My mom used to have them and I just love them.
Are you positive you want 4 o'clocks?? I started w/ one plant, and my youngest daughter & I carefully collected the seeds , so we could have more. Well, didin't need to do that!!! They are all over...or want to be. I go on 4 o'clock patrol on a regular basis so I can yank out the babies before they get "too comfortable". One plant (2 yrs ago) was about 8 ft tall and about 15 ft wide, and very close to the septic tank. I got a little concerned because the tubers can be gigantic!! I sprayed it 3 times last yr w/ round-up (which I usually just use on the poison ivy around here) and I've already treated it twice this yr. And still it grows! I'd be more than happy to send u seeds, if you want. They are the dark pink/fushia colored ones. (ALL of them!) My address should be here somewhere too, but if not, let me know. I can send tubers too!
Dogmansis, you could just prune your four o'clock plant if it gets too big, I have a feeling that the septic tank has something to do with the size of your plant, but you could be proud of it, there aren'r many that big. My largest one is about 6 feet. I also have white, light pink. yellow, red and bicolor, and I love them all.
Josephine.
Dogmansis, I don't think I want any of your 4 o'clocks. They sound like Monstor Plants. Thanks for the offer though.
Shirley
It could be that your 4 o'clock is growing in your leach field. If it is, it gets plenty of water and fertilizer. If the drainage is not perfect (all the water goes down), some of the water perculates up toward the surface.
That 4 o'clock received NO extra attention...I was afraid to do that! I've got 4 o'clocks growing everywhere now, just from trimming them back and tossing the cuttings where I thought I
might want them growing. Sometimes I wonder, now, what was I thinking!!
Crystal, I'd be happy to share with you. Let me know where!
Dogmansis - I'm with you! I had to move to get away from them and then they showed up at my next home in some plant material I brought along. Fought the battle all over again. Those round black bombs (seeds) show up everywhere! And the tubers! Lordy! I got one originally because of memories - my grandmother had them back when gardens grew from seed, not purchased plants at nurseries. But she lived up north where they would freeze down. I am desperately hoping that I have no seed to share.
I would loove some seeds! Where can I send a SASE?
I would like the fusia seed or small tubers.....I am in the exchange or d mail... I have light pink and a darker pink tubers available for anyone interested

mresue (or anyone who wants some), I'll be at a plant/garden swap in Ft Worth on Sunday, November 6, & will be happy to bring fuschia or deep mauve 4 o'clocks.
These will be plants, some still blooming, not seeds.
Let me know, via email or posting here.
Swap starts at 10 AM at Trinity Park (on the east side of University just barely north of I-30, across the street from FW Botanic Gardens.)
It'll last til probably around 3:00, since we have at least 2 gardeners who can't get there until 2:00--& they both always have neat things, so I know people will wait for them!
Very casual, come on over whether you have a bunch to trade or not! There'll be lots of what I call "garden surplus".
