I have lots of these growing in the wrong places. Would anyone like to trade me some named daylilies or hostas for some of these passion flowers? They are already large and blooming and I'll trim them back for shipping.
I have a large collection of both daylilies and hostas so I'm looking for something I don't have. I will also consider seedlings that you've hybridized yourself if you can show me pictures.
In daylilies, I love purples, pinks, eyes, watermarks, bicolors. In hostas, I love mostly variegated ones, piecrust ones, big bold ones, and teeny tiny ones.
I need good healthy starts with good root systems please. They will be in pots for a while until I can make room for them in my gardens.
Please be aware that Passifloras often shock terribly. They may drop all their leaves. But in about 4 to 6 weeks, they grow all new leaves. And you may even get to see them bloom this year too. They grow fast and will need a trellis to climb on. The fruit is edible I'm told. My mom and her siblings used to eat the little "maypops". Supposedly, they taste like guavas. They are hardy to zone 6.
Passifloras are the main food source of the Gulf Frittilary caterpillars. The "cats" can devour all the leaves on a plant, but soon they metamorphisize into the beautiful Gulf Frits that you'll proud to have visiting your gardens. And all the leaves will grow back in time for the next generation.
If interested in some vines, let me know. None for postage.

ANYONE INTERESTED IN PASSIFLORA INCARNATA - PASSION FLOWER?
Hi Nancy,
Would you mind getting me a few and potting them up for your swap? Surely I have something you might fancy.
Loretta
I have lots of crocosmia-blooming right now and ornamental grasses (small starts) if you would be interested in trading a few passion vines.
Loretta, of course I'll save you some passis. Let me write myself a note. I'm so glad you'll come to the swap. I think you'll enjoy meeting the rest of the gang. Are you still getting your yard set up? Let me know what things you're hoping to fill your new yard with. I might have something you need. You can check previous posts by me and see what else I have. I posted a couple weeks ago to trade with a long list. Scroll back a ways and see what else you need.

Hey Shinny, I have 3 different crocosmias and several grasses. I'm primarily looking for named daylilies or hostas. Thanks anyway.
Hi Nancy,
Sorry, I don't have any Hostas or daylilies, but could you possibly send me a small plant or a couple of cuttings that I could root. I've got some Rose Campion seeds or I could send you some cuttings from an Epi ( unk. possibly a Ackermanii) or some christmas cactus cuttings ..or both
thanks,
Eric
Sorry, Eric, I have several epis and xmas cacti. I'm really trying to limit my houseplants because I don't take good care of them indoors. I'm very neglectful and during winter, they nearly die. Some do! So now I primarily collect daylilies. They're tough, dependable buggers. Can't get enough. Thanks anyway.
Nancy,
Thanks anyway. If you happen to have any extras you can't get rid of , please LMK
Eric

Do I have to bring them in for winter, here in 7a? Thanks BC.
pirl - if they are hardy to zone 6, they should over-winter fine. My understanding from several sources is that if mulched for the winter, they come back just fine around here. (Sure hope so since I planted a couple outside this year! They are just awesome! The foliage alone is enough to knock your socks off! I'm trying to train mine to climb up the posts of my Wishing Well! But I'm still 2 short!)
NancyAnn - you have mail! LOL!
Arlene, I'm in zone 7a too, and these always come back for me with no problem. They are so drought tolerant too. In fact, I think people who do actually kill them must overwater them. These grow beautifully in the field across from me with NO attention at all. We may go 6 or 8 weeks without rain, and still the passis flourish. Shall I add a couple to the list I've started for you?
NancyAnn
Did I mention that these vines are rooted. They're not cuttings but nice healthy plants.
Here's a post that lists a few other plants I have to trade too, for those of you who prefer to do bigger trades.
I'm looking primarily for daylilies, my current addiction. I also collect hostas, sedums, heucheras, tiarellas, irises, cannas, artemesias, herbs, mints, and more. I have quite a collection of most of these, so I look for named ones only to ensure that I'm not trading for something I already have.
I also do artwork and could use some Donna Dewberry or Bob Ross instruction books, templates, and art supplies if you have any you're not using.

Hey NancyAnn do you have Gold Tiara dwarf hosta? I have Hyperion Daylily if you don't have that, it is my favorite one. A small fan of Vanilla Fluff. A heuchera with silvery leaves not sure of the name but can get a pic.
LMK if anything interests you.
TTYS, Ronnie
