While the leaves on this hoya don't float my boat, the smell does!! If i'm not mistaken, the flowas smell like butterscotch. SusanVa, this is the Tsangii you sent me! Does that make you a hoya-grandma:-).
Agape,
Awanda
Tsangii blooms
One of my FAVES! because of the scent!!! I hang it, and H. heuschkeliana in my shower so that I can smell the butter/vanilla/butterscotch and I don't gain 20lbs right off the bat!
Carol
What a sweet bloom! I am with you Awanda. That is one precious bloom.
It's beautiful Awanda! Mine has buds. I am anxious to smell the flowers, as I don't remember the fragrance. I am going to start logging when my plants bloom and record the fragrance from now on. Any one else's budding/blooming? Deb
Mine are blooming....Deb. Love them!
I have two baskets,.. one is not enough they smell so good!! I find they are good bloomers for a couple of months then slow down. I really enjoy this variety. Mine are loaded with blooms.
Karen
I'm almost having an overdose of butterscotch fragrance here!
Wayetii, heuschkeliana, tsangii, inconspicua and davidcummingii are all blooming at the same time and the whole livingroom smells like a candy store.
I just went through the livingroom, but I think I have to do it again and again and again...

HMMM, Sweden in 2006 sounds awfully good!!! I know you are enjoying all those heavenly hoyas blooming!!
Karen
Hey guys, I think it's really great the way everyone is talking about and enjoying the fragrance of these great plants. Not only are they amazing to look at in and out of bloom, but when they do flower, boy, are they great to smell! AND a great fragrance doesn't take up any extra space!!
Matt
Good point, Matt - all the fragrance you can sniff - FREE.
Does anyone know what H. odettae smells like?...or even looks like? I have buds forming and it is the first time.
Carol,
You will have to post the pics!!! Can you send the smell too?? LOL Is that another one I need to add to my wish list???
Karen
XXXXXing fingers and toes. I never know with the first buds.....
Just went out to my porch, and my ds-70(tsangii), from Carol, is sporting new blooms, it's one of the only ones, I have been able to get to rebloom, once it came into my care! Oh brother! How pathetic! At least I can get one of them to bloom! That's a start!!
Heather...some of them simply have a time when they bloom and then you have to wait for next year. Others, like the DS-70 (tsangii, H. heuschkeliana, H. lacunosa) just go on and on and on......
