This is the front of my tropical jungle.

How pretty! You have a really great variety in there. I like your arbor too.
That is really pretty. I love the white arbor, too.
Beautiful! Definitely a great variety.

Thanks all!! This is the front side...on the back side is a gravel path...a large banana..and brugs. There is also a bench and a fountain. I hate to show it cause the bench needs repainted badly...lol! And I have soooooo many things around here that need paint this summer...and not enough hands or time! Oh well...I'll get around to it!
Ooooh, that's just lucious! What is that small round "fuzzy" plant in the front? If it had legs it could be a Muppet! *grin*

Marcy, I simply adore the pots strung on a piece of rebar. (left side of arbor) Such a lovely idea for growing/displaying several plants in vertical manner. I saw a similar arrangement at a local nursery. The only difference is they used the biggest pot at the bottom and gradually decreased pot size as it went up.
I made a bee line to the local pottery shop, bought the pots and the rod and would you believe all is still in my "holding pen". I guess it has become a Fall project.
Congratulations on a luscious garden.
Hmmmm...Patischell....round fuzzy plant huh? LOL...that must be the blue fescue you are seeing? Right beside the banana?
And thanks Vossner...I like it too. I got mine at my favorite nursery earlier this spring. If you look closely..you can tell the top pot doesn't match. That's because a strong wind went through and blew it over and broke the original one. I never did get around to buying another of the same size..so used what I had!
That was the same hailstorm that riddled my hostas too. They STILL look crappy..but oh well..next year is another year..right??
Welll guys...I went out and took a pic of the backside....just don't look at the bench....ok????? LOL.
Ohhhhhhh...and Roz....we made that arbor out of "stuff" we had laying around in the barn here! Saw one at a plant sale ..a little larger....they wanted 395.00 for it!!! WOW!!! I DON"T THINK SOOOOOOOO!!!
And thanks again everyone for the nice comments!

that is lovely and I think the bench is fine the way it is. back to first pic. is the grass in the turquoise pot hakonechloa? how long have you had? slow grower? just lovely
Patti, I think that blue fescue will not do well in zone 9 or warmer. I've often lusted after that one. and I don't think it is high maint., but it just doesn't like the heat.
Lovely arbor and tropical playland for you! Love the bench and the settings. Looks like it all belongs in a magazine layout!
Congratulations on a job very well executed!
Thank you very much Pirl! I appreciate the nice compiment!
Vossner...yes it is Hakonechloa. It's been in that pot at least two years..maybe three..poor memory here! Yes...seems to be very slow growing. I have another pot of it that I put two plants in this year, because they were so small, and it has started to fill in nicely. And I think you are right about the fescue. It seems to like the cooler temps....and the only maintenance I do on it..is to trim the blooms off.
Speaking of blue fescue....I bought another one a couple of years ago...and it is definitely a different variety. I like it even better..but haven't been able to find out what it is. I will post a picture of it...maybe you would know? Or someone?
It seems to have a much broader leaf than the Elijah blue fescue.
Looks great!
People pay big bucks for those weathered looking benches!!!!
Or give Dave a little time off from all those kitchen chores, and slip a paintbrush in his hands!!!LOL!
LOL...trust me Don..you dont want to hand Dave a paintbrush!!
And...kitchen chores??????? Hahahaha!!!
Looks all so nice. Great effect.
I agree Vossner, I must try that pot askew look!!
I love your arbor....AND your plants. Terrific!!!
Aloha
