Hi Roger and welcome! Newbie! Ha! LOL! Well, you may be a newbie to Dave's, but you sure aren't to plumerias! I have a big 'ol grin on my face right now just because you are here. I know you are a busy man, but you are so knowledgeable about growing plumerias that anything you say will be a gift to us lesser experienced plumie growers. WELCOME!

Hey Roger, I have a question for you!

I just got a shipment of plumerias today from Thailand. It took about ten days to get to me. I think Customs held on to the package for a few days before inspecting and releasing it. Some of the cuttings are a bit wrinkled, but otherwise they look good. Coral Cream has a large soft spot on it. You can see it on the left in the picture below.

Anyway, I sent them all to Luc to graft for me. My question is, if you know, can Luc make two grafts out of one cutting? I am hoping that he can make a cut above and below the spot on Coral Cream, and then I'll have two! I just don't know if center cuts make good grafting material or not. Do you happen to know?

Thanks, and it's great that you are here!

Hi Roger! Welcome!

Clare
Luc can cut up cuttings to make multiple grafts, depending on the length. You will have a tip cutting and a stem cutting. He has done that for me meny times.

Thanks Julie! That is from one of my plumies. It's one of my favorites because it blooms and branches so prolifically.

BTW, I am a big salvia lover as well. I picked up seven new varieties this year and they are simply lovely.

Hi to all the new Plumie people! I'm just now starting with Plumies and all the help I've gotten from this forum is awesome. Of course my neighbor has a forest growing in the ground, but mine will be in containers.

Don't forget we have a Florida Forum and will be asking each other questions about our Plumies this winter, so don't forget we still need help when most all good Plumies are sleeping up north *grin*

Oh, thank you, Paula! Good to know!

Kimberly, I agree with Julie. It is a stunning picture and plumeria!

Hi Pati! Feel free to tell all Florida people to come here to ask questions this winter too! If we don't know the answers, we will find them together.

Roger, that is great because I sent Luc a few that were pretty large, and I got one from Thailand called "Blue Violet," and it would be great to have two of those also.

Ah, Englewood is beautiful! It looks like a pretty big flower too. What's the size on that and how's the fragrance?

Roger, I am working on building up our PlantFiles, and I have uploaded a lot of your pictures (thank you very much for giving me permission:-), but now that you are here, could you upload that picture of Englewood to the PlantFiles when you have time? Here's the link: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/106810/live_view/ Just click on the link at the bottom of the page which says "Upload an image of this plant," then select "Browse" to find the picture on your hard drive, add any comment and then "Preview" and then "Send." It will appear a few days later after it is reviewed. It is just too pretty and must be seen by the world! I'm so glad to see you here:-)
