Passiflora incarnata question....

St. Paul, MN(Zone 4b)

Hello All.

I started a Passiflora incarnata from seed this spring, placed it in a pot in my garden, and it finally has buds. In order to get it through until next spring, does it require a winter die-back, or can I bring it indoors and keep it growing over the winter (provided I can win the battle with the spider mites)? There's no way I could get it through our winters outdoors without using 30 feet of mulch on top of it....and I just might be crazy enough to do that if necessary!

I have incarnata in the greenhouse and out side, they are suppose to come back here, and have, and I don't cut my incarnata down in the greenhouse during the winter, they'll often bloom inside in the winter too. You have to watch for scale, and other critters though LOL

Thank you, Kathy, for the most helpful advice. Hopefully I will get a few blooms over the winter as well!
