Canna bulbs

Does anyone know if canna bulbs and blooms are poisonous? I would like to plant them around the outside of our dog kennel for screen and shade but want to make sure they are not poisonous first.......................Thanks!

look the in the plant files for your specific variety but I don't think cannas are poisonous. Pooch will surely appreciate his very own garden.

I don't have a variety yet, want some that only grow about three feet high and are red- know the names of any? Thanks

I dont. but also try the "tropicals" forum, they might be able to come up w/ suggestions for a dwarf red canna and possibly someone w/ rhizomes to trade.
