I'm new from California and my back yard is shady and I would like love to get your reccomendations on a Shasta Daisy variety that does well here in DFW area? I'm particularly looking for a couple of different varieties and sizes.
Thanks!
Shasta Daisys?
Becky.....perhaps?

I have killed several - but I have heard that some make it... I am going to get a few at some point from a group growing here and will pass on a few when they grow.
I grow them nearly every year as annuals--start seed about now transplant out in Oct and then they bloom in the spring...I just can't get them to survive the summer in houston.
Thanks everyone, I looked into Becky--it's a very pretty cultivar. I sowed from seed and the seedlings popped up but they aren't doing much and I wonder if next spring they'll come to life.
Where did you find seed? I've heard its hard to find....
Oh! I guess from my thread it looks like I planted "Becky". I actually just bought the typical shasta daisy you find on the shelves in the store, but if I find Becky from seed I'll letcha know! I hear it's one of the best shastas for the south. With huge blooms and a later bloom too. Does anyone know how well it does under the oaks?
Should I deadhead shastas?
