Northern corn rootworm beetle

Whitewater, WI

Anybody have any unfortunate experience with the Northern corn rootworm beetle? What is the best thing to use to kill it?
My brugs are totally infested and need a lethal solution if I'm to have any more flowers this year.
Thanks...

hmmmm ... never had these before. Thank goodness beetles are one of the easier pests to get rid of. Ortho's Basic Solutions Lawn and Garden Insect Killer works great for me when the Japanese Beetles visit. There's lots of different beetle insecticides out there to choose from.
Good luck!

My problem is earwigs..these little buggers will be in the top leaves chomping away..usually when its abit damp.....Hope you get those beetles out of your brugs, Eva.....I know how I feel when mine are chewed on....Judy

Is that your corn?? I wonder if them being in a corn field will get more bugs all over your brugs, Eva. I sure hope not. Get out the Raid. LOL

Thanks for the input, Ladies :)

And no, Kell, not my corn, Mr. Google again....lol

It's actually 2000 acres of corn I'm surrounded by. And like a true brug nut, if corn beetles were attacking my brugs...well, the corn would just have to go... :)

Raid works well, kills them dead on the spot but I have to also treat the surrounding area. Ortho suggested Bugs-B-Gone Max and we'll see how that goes in the next few days. I've never had such a severe damage before. They only attack the flowers which resemble swiss cheese in a matter of hours.

This poor flower didn't even get a chance to open. The only good Beatle was John, Paul, George , or Ringo....The rest just gotta go....

Eva, which Raid do you use?..Ive used teh green can before but another bug lover told me the blue can was a must....your opnion?...Ive got earwigs that love the tops of my new growth.....Judy

I used the green can (house and garden-multi-bug) tho I'll be checking out the blue. I used the green cuz I had it and was frustrated...lol
Good luck with your little buggers. That was my problem last year. I used Sevin but while it worked, I was getting distorted leaves. I swear, if it is not one bug, it is another....

aww man I'd be p.o.'d.
What - did the cropduster take a vacation? Maybe he could do a flyby on the brugs too!

Funny you should say that, Blaine...

Just last week, a bi-plane was doing aerial stunts overhead for a few hours. Pretty impressive but now that you mentioned it, he must have gone on vacation since the beetles showed up a couple days later...lol

Such unwelcomed guests.....
