I got 2 off of Ebay. I think one is just a general swamp hibiscus, but the other is a Red Night Bog Hibiscus. Does anyone else grow hibiscus in the pond? Any thoughts, tips, suggestions? I've grown tropical hibiscus in container for years, but never in the pond. They should arrive today. I'm quite anxious to see them and get them into the pond. :o) Jenny
Swamp/Bog Hibiscus
Those are also known as Mallows, and they're very well suited to a boggy environment. Not sure how well they do using that over-priced "aquatic soil" mix, as mallows are already accustomed to pretty muddy, stagnant soil. I'd try closed pots with clay & mud with gravel on top.
I didn't know they were also known as mallows. Interesting. I've got lots of clay soil, so that isn't a problem. LOL :O) Thanks for your tips. Jenny
