Boot, it's a native plant here, as well as a few other Tropaeolum species. I love them!

Boots, is it T. brachyceras? Maybe my poor handwriting confused you LOL. They usually start blooming the second year. However, TomTom had amazing flowers on the first year - they are posted in the PF as well as in the Containers forum.

The little T. brachyceras plant I posted last year has grown tremendously this year. Will post an update soon.

WOW, you have the wonderfully scented Jovanella violacea! Isn't it lovely?

Sorry, but foliage does not tell much - it's the same for T. tricolor, T. brachyceras, T. lepidum and T. azureum LOL.

Did you get your seeds from the GAF? If so, we could check the list and see which species they are.

Boots, have you seen this thread from TomTom?

http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/500172/

When the pictures were taken, I think her T. brachyceras were two years old and the T. tricolorum only one!

This year (Autumn) I sowed Tropaeolum seeds for the first time and have quite a lot germinated (some of the plantils are already 30 cm (1') long!). Previously I had T. come with the dirt I bought for my pots.

Sorry, I confused your shrub with Junellia (oooooops!).
