A beautiful color! Looks like it has a nice growth habit and a decent amount of flowers for its first show. Congratulations to both of you!

So great!! Do you know the dad?

Mifflintown, PA(Zone 6a)

Dad unknown according to datdog.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well he did great, this unknown dad. I love it!! Sure teaches me not to be such a brug snob!! LOL. I am forever tossing out unknown pods.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Beautiful color and tendrils. So many seedlings I have grown are white, pale yellow, short tendrils. Sure takes the fun out of growing them.

Amen Hibiscus! I'm in the same boat.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

It's beautiful Dixie and bloomed so fast from seed! I think you are the first to have a bloom from all the seeds that were sent out. I'm glad you have your first pink brug :0) Looks like it's holding up well in this heat too? Can you snap a picture of it when it opens up? Thanks so much for growing it out.

Kell I learned long ago from hybridzing hostas that you just never know what your going to get even if you choose the parents carefully . :) Now ask me if I'd grow out a frosty pink from seed? BIG NOOOOO LOL I do know that crossing known crosses you have a better outcome for sure. But I figure with Rosamond some of the seedlings might turn out nice. But you just never know.

Gloria I've gotten some duds too this year from seedlings that are coming up on three years old.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Patricia sent me a cutting of Rosamond x l'amour that is opening very much like your fatherless child. Pics later... It is gorgeous and smells .... ooola la...tres nice!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

R x L should be a great cross. I have grown many seeds with both pink parents and the baby was WHITE, how could that be? Must be my "white" touch??

I know Kristi, I have some 3 yrs old that have never bloomed, if they are white..................

Were you growing those in a greenhouse to have blooms like that in late winter and spring? How is she doing now in the heat and humidity?
Certainly big luscious blooms.

Mifflintown, PA(Zone 6a)

These are pictures of her now. I just checked my pic.,the girls set the date on camera and they do day month yr. I think thats there policy at work. I will have to get them to change it. I think shes holding up pretty good,They were seeds I started in Dec.in house. I did give her a shot of water last night. Only fer.abt 3 times all summer. None of my other seeds is making much of a showing. I even had cuttings potted that are doing nothing.

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)
