Hi Judy,

I just looked at your GW list and notice that you have brugs to trade. Which brugs are available?

Thanks,

Daisy

This is the leaf of the Maya I grew from 2001 until late 2003. When I moved to FL I didn't bring my Maya with me. Recently I received a free Maya in a purchase and it does not look like my Maya from Tennessee. I know for a fact that my original Maya was the real thing as compared to Monikas pictures. I suspect I received Sunset instead which is just fine with me. I grew Sunset about 6 years ago. Sunset leaves are more elongated and more soft and downy and the variegation is different from Maya.
I'll try to get a good pic of the supposed to be Maya I received so you can get a good look at the differences in both leaves.

Even though the leaf in the picture above looks a little glossy this leaf is not glossy. It has a soft downy texture that is very much versicolor-like.. The lighting can fool you sometimes.

Nothing like beating a dead horse but doggone it I have a problem with the english language ... ha! It is so hard for me to find just the right words to describe what I'm trying to say.

My original Maya leaves were not all so rounded as you see in the picture. Most of my leaves had serration to some degree. The most obvious difference is the way the variegation in the real Maya can get more widely distributed across the leaf. And there is more bright white in its variegation. Mayas leaves are soft and hairy too but the real Maya leaves are thicker than Sunset leaves ... blah blah .... cr*p I give up! heehaha! rofl

No I sure don't Betty Dee. I just wasn't into brug pictures too much back then and I could just kick my butt sometimes because of my stupidity. If only I could have seen into the future.
When I got my original Sunset in the late 90's it was a purchase from a now defunct small time seller in the northwest. It was labeled suaveolens variegata "Tropical" Sunset. Even as a beginner I knew by looking at the leaves that it was not suaveolens and it had alot of versicolor or x candida in it. I had it about a year and a half before it froze to death and went to brug heaven. It was kind of wimpy in my Tennessee environment. But Maya was always tough and strong.
