What a nice large black stem ee. I love the glossy leaves. (also like the pond.) They must love the humidity.

Those are gorgeous. Are they metallica crispa?

I truly don't know. I received it for my birthday last year, without data. Let me take a trip to the plant files. Oh, by the way my island girls are doing good! Rj

Your so right. The leaves are shaped just like the ones in the plant files, annnd... I took my flashlight out, and sure enough there the purpley looking veins. Very cool . Elephant Ear 'Metallica' Alocasia plumbea

I'm going to have to show these shots to mine.

Thanks, I think our daily tropical down pours this month had quite the effect on him. I think he likes alot of water.

Yes, they like water and fertilize. I was starving mine till Barb told me. Now if I could remember not to overwater the other alocasias, I'd be doing good.

Calalily do they like sun? I have one and have started feeding it. Hope it will do better now. I have it in full sun. It and my black magic is planted next to my heating and AC outside unit, and it gets the water that drips out of it. The black magic is doing great but my other is kinda growing slow.

Hmm.. what do you feed them? I have just been dressing them with mulch and osmocote. Those plants there really get about 3 hours of afternoon sun, but the location is bright.

Thanks Donna!
