It was a spectacular holiday Monday today, so I made a trip to Cape Spear, the most easterly point in Canada (about a 20 minute drive from my house). Here's a shot of the lighthouse, one of the oldest in Newfoundland (circa 1830's)

What a beautiful vista Todd.....thank you for a mini holiday! Ü
Gotta say I really love the all the blues (flowers AND water :).
Thanks Todd, for showing us some more great Newfie pictures. Great place to show off if you're a wildflower.
Thanks for the pics. My husband travels to St Johns fairly often for work. I MUST accompany him some time - though preferably not in winter. ;-)

Beautiful pictures Todd. They're always so crisp and clear. Have you already been asked what kind of camera you use?
Sandy
Ann, you definitely do not want to come here in winter...even I don't want to be here then!
I use a Nikon coolpix 8800. The iris and campanula pics were the first time I tried the wide-angle mode to focus on the near but include some of the background. The effect worked quite well for the iris in particular. The camera was one of the best gifts I've ever gotten (a Christmas gift from my oil-tycoon brother in Calgary! LOL!)
Todd, your photography is spectacular, as usual.
I need a brother likes yours!
;)
Wonderful pictures Todd. Some remind me of when my daughter and her family went 'down home'.
Joan
Thanks for the information Todd. I'll write that down in case I drop my camera again. I dropped my first digital camera a couple of months ago and replaced it but I don't like my new camera as much as the old one. Somehow the closeup flower pictures aren't as clear. Sigh....I think it'll be awhile before I could get a better one.
