Taaaaaaaaal rice paper plant

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

This plant is about 4 years old for some reason the top leaves don't freeze back. It obviously likes it where it is.

Oh My! Maybe those trees shelter it. Mine freeze down every year. I finally put one in a pot so I can see the blooms. Does your tall one bloom for you?

What a weird name. I love the leaves.

Barb, the one you gave me last year grows and grows, but never gets that tall. Mine freezes back in the winter. I had a baby on mine, and Marie thanks us both!

Kell, I think they us to actually make paper from it. May be wrong but think it is why it is named that.

Roz, Your plant should get twice as tall as mine, once established. Have plenty is you need any.

I have one that is in a pot. First year for it. I would like to put it in the ground, but I have read it can become very invasive. I think that is the word I want to use. In my zone will it come back next year? Also I have it in an area where it doesn't receive full sun. Where I would like to plant it, is in a partical shaded area.

Linda, I don't know the hardiness but I would guess that it would not return in zone 6. Mine receives a lot of filtered shade.

Nice.
I tried to grow some from seed that I rec'd in trade. No germination.
