Bean puzzle

Today, I saw the first bean on my scarlett runners. Up until now all that was left was the flower stems. Any ideas why this would happen?

Lots of bees and insects to pollinate.

When I was watering this morning I noticed that some of my stems don't have very many little beans on them either. I noticed that last year too. It seems to me it was mostly on the first stems and once the plants really got going they were fine. Maybe at first there aren't as many flowers so there aren't as many bees visiting them.

Sandy, I've had tons of flowers. But I spied another little beannie yesterday so maybe there's hope yet. Ü
