Those are just gorgeous!!! WOW!! That scrubby feeder sure looks better in pictures than rotting bananas! lol Your camera is so clear. I love the Paper Kite on that red! Good job!

Great pictures, Looks like a fun place to visit. The Scrubbie is a great idea, I have sand and rock in an old bird bath.

I saw that first pic and took off through the house searching out the scrubbies and colored bowls. I have orange scrubs and a blue bowl - now, please tell me you know what was in their bowl! Sugar water? Salt water? Help! I'm in the process of building a butterfly garden and have several ideas about how to use this combination, but not sure just what to fill them with to get the b'flies to come to them.

ps, I went through the rest of the pics and they are great!

Jellyneck,
That's a great idea, but how do you keep the bees away. Fantastic shots!!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

That one is inside an exhibit, so yeah bees and wasps might be a problem outside. I have a hanging birdfeeder that is like a big plate and I put fruit on it with some watermelon Gatorade, which gives them stuff they need and keeps the fruit from drying out so quick. The wasps and butterflies both eat at it at the same time so I guess they don't bother each other.

tgif,
The stuff in the bowl was some kind of sugar water. I've never tried it at home. Looks like its time to experiment.

Starkville, MS

Thanks. I've got my temporary one set up with that, and I'm going to try a salty one, too, along with some bits of fruit and odds and ends. It will be fun to see what happens, and I'll post pics somewhere later.

Experiment # 1 in progress!

My DH saw a tiger swallowtail drinking out of the hummingbrid feeder twice, of course I was not at home to get a pic.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

I've seen pics of butterflies and hummers eating together. Of course, not at my house either.
