Help! My stephanotis lost all of its flower buds.

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

Can anyone tell me what happened to my stephanotis? It was blooming great, then all of a sudden it lost all of its buds and flowers. I love this plant. It's so fragrant. The plant otherwise looks healthy. Even has some new growth. I would also like to take some cuttings. Does anyone have some tips?

Did you get hit by those unseasonably hot temps?
Then the cool snap?
If so that may have caused a bud drop.

This was one of my favorites before I lost mine a couple years ago. Inconsistent watering can shock them, and, as Ric said, they are sensitive to temperature swings. Your plant still looks like quite healthy, but a shame to lose those big, beautiful, fragrant blooms.

I too have one and like Kathy am wondering how easy it is to root a cutting from?

I had excellent luck rooting Stephanotis cuttings in moist seed starter in a mini-greenhouse. It took awhile, but they rooted just fine.

We did get some real crazy weather a couple of weeks ago. It was 93 for the high and then a couple days later it got down to 48 for the low. Do you think it will send off any more blooms this summer? Is there a specific fertilizer that works best?
I'll take some cuttings then and let you know of it's a success. Tropicalaria, if I do have good success, would you like a cutting?

Kathy-
I'd love a cutting. If you are successful, let me know, and I'm sure I could dig up something interesting to send your way :)
