Big buds....I am praying for a cold snap!!! LOL...

Is this another Brug that needs cool weather to bloom? I have a small HG that I bought earlier this year, but it has not produced a "Y" yet. From what I've read, you are one of the lucky ones!

It's a challenge - and I can't make up my mind whether it's a challenge I want to take on or not. Have seen cuttings for sale many times but haven't bitten yet. Knowing me I probably will eventually. It'd be such a kick if it did well.

You go Carol!

Should I water it with ice water?

maybe buy it its own air conditioning unit?

You go Girl ! ! !

WTG Carol!!
What few little buds I had fell off. I'm gonna give up on this one I thinks.....
Hope you have some blooms to share with us soon.

My heroine!!
hey, in the islands would that be pronounced like 'hero-eeny' ?

I'm trying not to listen to the general acclaim that HG blooms are rare to non-existent. The picture I have in my first book still wows me!

Blaine...you are a linguist!!!

I sleep with two blankets at night...so I hope HG thinks it is cool too!

Out with the camera today..

D'ya think it is camera shy and blasts when we get too excited???

I'm not knowing... but I'm gonna go out and harrangue harry in the compost pile!!

Carol, if you have it, try some Messenger on it. Mine had about 75 or so buds last fall, all of which fell except three. She was totally covered in spider mites, but I used the Messenger on her twice, and kept her as cool as possible. It had started cooling off a little bit by that time. The first flower opened white, little and single. I wanted to cry. Well, those next two flowers made it all worth it to me. They were both triples and just gorgeous! (I posted them under HG here at Dave's if you want to see the pictures.)

She has bloomed two flowers this summer. I missed the first by being out of town, but think it was a double. The second was a double.....pretty, but not as pretty as those triples.

Don't give up on her. They are worth the wait.
