This is the only banana I've ever gotten to bloom and its been reliable now for 4 years in a row. Container grown in a 5 gal pot. Ornamental - not edible... but lovely.

Cala... it would freeze and not bloom if it was in the ground. I found that out the hard way with couple other of my bananas. :(
On a brighter note.. I think I finally have a bloom spike coming up on my white bird of paradise.. keep your fingers crossed.

MzM, how old is your white BOP? I have two, they're old but the idiot who owned the house before us cut them back to the ground and almost killed them. They've been growing almost 2 years now.
My BOP is about 7 years old now. It towers around 10' high

My neighbor's white BOP is tall like that, I love it. I think I have a long wait till mine flowers, lol. Peggy sent me a seedling, it's growing great but it's got a long time to go before flowering too.
