That's my question for which I'm looking for answers. How does it help a pond? Please help.

What is a bog area?
Basically a bog for a pond is an area of high bio activity, usually very dense. Instead of just water, the bog is filled with any combination of plants, rock, pebbles and/or dirt. Water will flow or seep into/through the bog area carrying the waste nutrients from the fish or whatever from the pond. In the bog the bioactivity breaks down the nutrients to harmless usable products. Thats the general idea behind a bog. It somewhat simulates the edge of streams and lakes where there is constant moisture. Certain plants are adapted to growing in this environment. Does that help any?..... Tom
A bog area is defined as a very wet, almost swampy area where you can grow plants that like "wet feet". It doesn't have to be standing water but very, very wet soil. But that's here in Michigan. Tom knows alot more than I'll ever know, so listen to him.

Geez Anne... we only been at this pond stuff for less than a year. I didn't know I knew that much!!!
My pond does not have a waterfall. Does 'bogging' still suit my small pond?
