I'm fairly new to DG but am already enjoying trading seeds with members. I'd love to trade bulbs too but I don't know if this is possible between the USA and Europe. If anyone has any experience of this, please LMK. Thanks.

Bulb trading
In Europe you can quite freely, the USA has strict customs rules for plant material outside of the USA. It's worth checking out Spain's restricted and prohibited plant list is first though.
So US DG members could send me bulbs but I'd have trouble sending them bulbs back? Hmmm; I'd have to see if people would accept lots of seeds instead...
Thanks for the info. Baa
Seeds are also restricted although it doesn't seem all that strongly enforced especially in some states, some people trade bulbs and plants to and from the US but you and your trader must be aware that it might be held back and thrown out by customs. I've had several lots of seeds binned by US and Canadian customs but they've also hung onto a book too for 3 months too. They tend to send yellow notes to the intended recipient about what they've done and why but not always it seems.
It's worth knowing what is allowed into Spain though as some things can get you into hot water.

Thanks Baa. I've had no trouble with seeds or books so far. (Famous last words)...
Touch wood ;)
I meant to add earlier that Europe can be very itchy, veggy plants and seed in particular, partly due to it's 'you can only eat these registered varieties list' each country has, partly because Europe tends to have these kinds of rules and partly due to GMOs coming in via the backdoor so to speak.
