Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, Karrie. Love the Clivia.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

It's BLOOMING!! Nice. I have 3 and none are blooming.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

It is sure pretty.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

AND, it is a really good one, from what I understand. It is hard to find, I am told, Clivias that hold their bloom stock high....many bloom at a level below the tallest leaves. Good job, Karebear!

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

This is really very pretty. Is this kaffir lily?
Kaleem

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

It is a Clivia.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

gumlla... yes.. that is the other name for it

Chapin, SC(Zone 7b)

wow! What a neighbor. I've wanted one but they are so expensive and hard to find. Congratulations on your beauty and thanks for sharing the pictures.

Nice neighbor...nice plants!

I recently traded away my Clivias as they hadn't bloomed for me, either.
Glad I'm not the only one!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Yes - I've been reading up on these and different places charge different prices - some outrageous. I read an internet article yesterday that they can even go for hundreds to thousands of dollars. Saw another site selling them for $50. Go figure.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

OMG $50USD.....this is too much????
When your plant will have babies..... dont forget me....LOL.

I bought mine from an ebay seller a few years ago.
They weren't too expensive....I think $15.00 for the two of them. I had passed up several auctions before I'd found this seller, though.

Many people in southern states grow them as garden plants and have them in abundance.

Kaleem....too bad I didn't know that you had wanted one when I traded mine away!

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Nan
Thank you but I am late : (

in So Calif. we grow Clivias as accent plants in the yard :-)
Home Depot sometimes will have the Belgium wide leaf orange 3 for $15.00
a cpl of years ago i pulled a cpl of dozen offshoots from one i had planted 15 years ago
all my neighbors got nice blooming size clivias
there are many new hybrids & colors that can cost a lot of money
& Karrie is right there are some in China that sell for thousands of $
Clivias prefer dappled shade not full sun, full sun will sun burn them
bloom colors are from dark red to pastels to light yellows
Clivias can also be addictive :-)
yes i have a cpl doz. different kinds :-)

Oh sure......now you tell me, Dick. Is any of your making seeds?
:) Donna

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

yes Donna i have seed :-)

Dick

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Dick has some real nice ones!! I am dying for a variegated one. I may take the plunge. LOL. But I have some in the ground for about 25 years and they have never flowered. Call me loyal!!

Karrie, yours is sure nice. Nice color too!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

My neighbor Dee goes to China alot - they trade with them because they have a wholesale jewelry business and buy beads.

Well - I'm just tickled that it's still blooming, and the blooms aren't showing any stress.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Well you better confess, Dick. What kind? Do you sell them?? Do you have the yellow one????
:) Donna

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Kell, does it get below 60 degrees there at all? I read that they are not supposed to get below 60 degrees and that is why most people use them as houseplants. Dee said hers are houseplants up until we start getting our really hot weather, then she puts them outside, in their pots, in the shade.

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

Clivia can take cold & frost for short periods of time
the large Chinese variegated are very pretty
the bigger they are the more expensive they become
there are 3 or 4 sellers on Ebay that are very good
they will be shipping again starting in Sept when it cools off
some of the smaller seedlings 1 to 2 years old are reasonable in $
it takes on average 5 years from pollination to first bloom :-)
Donna i have seed of most of the colors, my first year for them
no i don't sell anything but i do trade
here is a collage of some of the seed i have now
the seed stay on the plant almost a whole year before harvesting
