That looks great. I love your birdfeeders, right by the porch. I bet they come right up to you almost.
Roz, Yes I have slacked off the feed for the summer in that location. Between my daughter and I we have an area in the woods between our houses,we feed ther all summer long. The squirrels get to bad on my flowers by the porch.
great looking plants! very tropical setting for PA! what is the big one, left, in back. it looks like a cross between canna and banana, a cannabanana! love that one. debi
Debi, I think you mean my banana Zebrina-Musa Sumatrana. I picked that up at Lowes in early spring.Never mind what I am going to do with it come winter.LOL

That's a pretty area Dixie. I'd be out there every evening with a frosted pitcher of pink lemonade.

You tropical bed looks wonderful! Looks like a comfy spot to relax.
thanks dixie, i dont think ive ever seen a banana with such thin trunks. very much better looking in my opinion! send it down here for the winter! i have a friend in missouri who overwinters his every year in the house. i will have to find out how he does it. i know they arent in pots, he plants them in the ground every spring! maybe he just does the babies. i will let you know. debi
just beautiful. I keep 2 small feeders hanging on my front porch for the Titmice, Chickadees, and Finches. The bigger birds don't tend to come there so they can eat in peace
What a nice area! Lovely mixture of plants and everything looks wonderful!
Dixie, you gotta love somebody named Dixie!!
Donna, we feel the red cardinals, and when the feeders get empty (squirels), they come to the porch and eat dry dog food. They love it. I can be out there and they will come up to the rail and fuss at me if there is no dog food or bird food. We have fed them for so long that they are beginning to not be afraid of us at all. When thy fuss, I go feed them, so I guess they know who to holler at!
Guess what I got brave and put one of my brugs over by my feeders. I had and empty space and I tried early and it did not like location.I looked at it and it was growing all crooked in container so I put it there and tied it to feeder pole. Keeping fingers crossed ,it had small buds on. It was a white one nothing special.Although it was covered with blooms the end of June.If it blooms again I will post pic. if it croaks you wont hear it from me.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it will do fine for you.
I'm probably being optimistic, but I have just bought a banana Musa 'dwarf Cavendish' for my conservatory here in England. It should fruit if I can keep it warm enough through the winter, but the fruits will probably only be small as I don't have room to put it in a huge container. Has anyone got fruit from a plant in a pot, and how big do you think it needs to be?
Very tropical looking. Wonderful setting. I loved how you grouped them altogether.
Great yard. I love it. Is that a huge red leafed canna right in front of your porch? The leaves are so big. I wonder how big the flower spike will be.
Kell yes it is cannas thats all I know. My daughter ordered some from ebay. I just asked her about them all she remembers is she order dark foliage cannas. I will try to get Pics if they bloom.
Kell did you see my pink brug pic? Take a peek and give me your imput. Dixie
Great looking! Location, isn't that the truth though? My whole back yard landscaping is driven by where the brugs like to be.. It all turns out good in the end when we listen to Mother Nature.
