True Arborea seeds

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have enough for 10 people to get 5 seeds each. Keep in mind this plant likes it cooler than hotter.

These were just picked so should germinate fast.

Please only put your name on list if you have posted on Brug Forum in the last 30 days and are a member of the forums.

Thanks

edited to add that these seeds will all produce the same plant. They are self pollinating so you will end up with a true Arborea. That is why no need to plant lots of these seeds unless you happen to want lots of True Arborea.

me three *LOL*

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I'm not having ANY luck with mine grown from seeds last year. I'll let someone who has a more appropriate climate have the thrill.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I think if I put the seedlings on the side of the house that get's morning and early afternoon sun that they'd do ok. I have a Whiskers and a Creamsickle there that are doing fantastic. I have two of both and the ones on that side of the house are much darker green, much bigger, and less leaf damage. They are taking more time to bud, but I think in the long run they are going to be more beautiful plants when they start flushing.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

kell did i make it or not? lmk.. ok? have nice day.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Annapet, I have other seeds for you too I will put in.

Linda, I held out 5 seeds for someone that said they had trouble germinating seeds I had sent of Arborea. It wasn't you was it? It might have been Angela in San Jose. I promised her a few things I need to get out.

Karrie you never know till you try. So you want to try?

Email me your addresses so I will get these out when I am hot to do it. They should be dry by tomorrow.

Corte Madera, CA

thanks, kell. i can't stop smiling. my face is starting to hurt.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

you have mail Kell!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

That's a precious pod!! I'm like Linda, they sprout nicely but don't like my heat/humidity. I just love the brug and I'm just sick that I will likely never have the opportunity to smell one...

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

If you get seeds, DON'T GIVE UP ON THEM TOO SOON!!! Sorry to shout, but I wanted to make sure that y'all heard me! Kell sent me some seeds last fall, and I put them in rockwool at the beginning of January. Some came up right away, but there were others that still had good seeds that sat for months. I FINALLY got TWO arborea seedlings, they both sprouted within the last month! There's a L'Amour x Rothkirch seedling that's sprouting now. It's neck is sticking up, but it hasn't cleared the rockwool yet. That's almost EIGHT months after putting it in rockwool.

Don't put me on the seed list, Kell, you sent me lots last fall. I just wanted to tell everyone not to give up unless the seeds are mushy!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the heads up Ronna! Input like yours is always wanted and warranted!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Ronna, mine came up nicely and quickly and looked great until the heat/humidity hit, they aren't dead, but they aren't happy either, and I would really love to smell one!! Your zone sounds like one they would like, good luck!!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

guess i did not thanks anyway.. good luck everyone!!!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Twyla, you need to click on Kell's name and send her an email.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh my gosh Ronna, what a serious brug Momma you are. I give them a few months and then they are history! Unless of course they are guaranteed to be triple purple ones. Thanks for being so conscientious with my seeds. Hopefully this year if you want some more, they will be fresher than the ones I sent you last year must have been.

Twyla, I missed your post asking if you got in. By my count you are no. 5 of 10.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

kell thanks send bubble and stamps in it right? thanks.. i want so bad to get some blooming... lost leaves off good healthy one yesterday one today heat.. so i'm going to get more seeds going..

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

No need Twyla, I am going to just put in regular envelope and hope for best. I will tape them to bottom of envelope so hopefully they won't get smashed.

I wish you luck with them Twyla, but I will add a few regular brug seeds too because I think you will have more luck keeping them going than Arborea seeds. I have some relatively fresh Susanne X RK seeds that have your name on them now. They are very special seeds and I hope you hit it real pink!!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

oh thanks so much hopefully will get both going want to so bad.. i appreciate it very much.. blessings. Twyla

Probably too hot down here, at least lately. Just wanted to say that I think it's real sweet of you to think of the Brug gang here with your special True Arborea seeds.

Mary
(serious for a change!)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

kell...your post jogged my memory and I remembered the arborea seed pod that you sent me with the cuttings. Actually the cutting didn't make it, but I do have about 15 seeds that I could also share...so we can add 3 more people to the list...

I will send them out when there are takers for them.

Margie

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

They probably won't do real well in heat fo rextended periods of time, Mary.

LOL Margie, I have no memory of sending you a seed pod. Sorry about the cutting. I am going to get a few started to root. A few people I have met around here love fragrance so I have told them of this and need to drop one of on their doorsteps someday soon. I think it is easier to root them for people sometimes, they have a better chance of living. Do you still need one?

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

kell,

am i to late?

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I think you are in it annac - specially since someone else offered seed as well.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I get

Karrie 1
Annapet 2
Doris 3
Hope 4
Annac123 5

So we have enough for 8 more counting Margie's. If I missed anyone, let me know!

The fragrance from this one is the best scent I have ever smelled anywhere from anything.

That is what I like the most - fragrance!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Yes, kell...I NEED ONE ! Looks like a lovely one and especially with a lovely fragrance!!!

I am even willing to pick it up! LMK...

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Hey Kell,

Can I ask for one more, for my neighbor who gives me all these plants? I'd like to get her involved at Daves and this might just be a way to do it. If I am asking for too much, that is ok. I don't mind rejection. It's all in fun and care.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Mine bloomed right up till Christmas, Margie, then off and on thru to spring. It likes our winters!! Let me root it first and I will let you know. If I space, remind me in about 1 month.

They flower even as small cuttings. Last year or maybe 2 years ago, I was growing one for Ada and didn't send it for a good while. So I would send her pictures as it flowered. Called remote ownership! It was small and kept putting them out. Boy, I sure hope I eventualy did send it to her. LOL I must ask her.

Karrie you want another set of seeds? Sure, looks like we will have extra.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes Kell, if that is ok I'd even take one of your fresh ones and one of the older ones, and split them with Dee. I'm going to show her how to do this. We are, together, getting our local garden club addicted.

Oh Kell, Hope I'm not too late. Could I have a couple seeds?
Please and Thank YOu...
Kin

Knoxville, TN

Kell,
Your generous spirit never ceases to amaze me. How nice of you to share your seeds and to go to the trouble to mail them too. You are a true sweetheart!
I have arborea, but, would love to try some seeds. Put me at the bottom of the list only if you have extras after those who do not have the plant are given seeds first.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Thank you kell...I would appreciate you rooting it for me. I will put it on my calendar so I don't forget either!

Would now be an OK time to start the arborea seeds?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Karrie, what fun to get your whole garden group brug crazy! They may hate you for it in the end. LOL

Sure Kin, I bet they do well for you in Oregon.

Mel, you are just saying all that to get me off the dime to send you your RK I promised. LOL Shaming me into it. Hey it works. LOL

Sure Margie, if you have a place for them as they grow all winter. Some start their seeds in October or November so they do not get too big inside before spring. With Arborea, the bloom so fast from seed you can even start them later and still get bloom easily in the summer. However, fresher seeds germinte faster. Where you live, you will be able to leave them outside all winter with some protection. Even in frost, my arborea never showed it. I have it under an apricot tree.

SEND Me your addresses please. They are still a little damp so I will send them out tomorrow.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Kell, Probably too late but if you should have an extra I would love to try. May be tooo hot but if meltn has one in Knoxville maybe it would survive, I have a lot of shade.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I love the fragrance of this one but it will not live in my heat :(

Knoxville, TN

Picabo, I have had great luck with arborea. Luckily I read that it did not like the heat after I grew and bloomed it! I keep it in a semi-shady spot where it gets a tad of afternoon sun in the summer and in the Greenhouse through the winter. If you have shade in your yard, I am betting it will do ok for you as well!

Yea, Kell! I am trying to shame you! LOL! It is what I live for! If you want you can just grow the seeds and send me pitcures. Saves lots of water and fertilizer for me!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Now how did I miss this? Anymore left? I am collecting fragrant things to place around my patio as we enjoy the fragrance so much sitting out there in the evening with a glass of wine, like last night...mmmm, wine and brugs and nicotanias, and a nice BBQ steak to round it out, it was great.

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Kell, If I'm not too late, may I have some arborea seed. I have a coolish greenhouse. I've been able to keep 3 B. sanguinea plants alive and would like to try B. arborea.
