New addition to my garden

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

My kids think my pink flamingo is so tacky. I love it; so I went and got another one!

Roz, I think your mingo looks great mixed in with your tropicals. My DH is the flamingo lover at our house and I always have to have a couple tucked in among the plants.

That looks great. Your plants are so healthy looking and lush. I love the little birds sitting on the brick wall.

Thanks Roz. All my foliage plants are doing well this year - - ears, bananas, coleus, etc. But it's been a bad year for blooms.

I call this one the "bird bed". Someone gave DH a pair of those plastic, hot pink flamingos a few years ago. He'd put them in the front yard, I'd move them to the back, he'd move them back to the front. And so it went until, the flamingos met with a most unfortunate "accident". All four legs were mysteriously broken! LOL

Wish my computer would accept some more pics, I would show you my flamingoes with the bikinis on. They are so cute under the palm tree!!

Janet, would love to see a picture of your flamingos!

And Roz, your flamingo is high class compared to my DH's plastic ones.

Stupid puter says hard disk is full. I deleted every picture and it still says full. :(
dunno what to do now. Need a new one, 'cause dh says this one is too old to spend any more money on it.
Maybe one day nathalyn

A bikini? What a cute idea. I thought about putting a straw hat on one of mine.

I think an iron chicken would be neat. I have seen them in magazines. I think things like that adds a lot to the garden.

I like your bird bed, Nathalyn. Sounds like you are by his flamingos as I am about my dh's stupid looking weather vane. He put it right smack in the front yard. I was so upset when the wind took it down - NOT. Now it is on the side of the house. I wanted to put it way in the back, about two acres from the house!
Janet, you will have to show me that picture when I see you. And I will remember to give you your coconut; it is still now growing!!

Roz, We picked up a pair of those last April at the Cincy Plant Show.
They DO make a statement.(Exactly WHAT kind of statement I'm not really sure but...LOL)
They're potted up w/ Pink Zinnas.
I think next year it will be Caladiums.

We have a dozen or so different Pink Flamingos in the yard.
It's our trademark.

Our newest is a pink rope light Flamingo.
It looks like we have a 3' neon Flamingo walking around at night.
I wanted to put in up on the roof (our neighbor agreed w/ me) but my DP out-voted us.

Cool! I would love to find 3foot lighted flamingos to wal around the tropicals. I think that would look great. I have a string of flamingo lights that I threatened to put on the Christmas tree, but the grandkids is afraid Santa would just keep going.

I picked up mine at Krogers but here's a site that sells them.

I'll post a shot or link of ours tonight

Wrap up the Flamingo lights and put them under the tree FROM: Santa .
Then they got no beef! LOL

I love your Pink Flamingos! No garden should be without them! Nat, I can't beleive you moved Ed's pinkies to the back of the yard. Have you no taste? LOL.

Knoxville, TN(Zone 7a)

No taste and no shame, either!!!

AHHHH, you have penguins too!!!! LOL

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Henry, they are just adorable. See the one in the last picture, the big one? That's how my two look, just like that. I adore the lighted ones. Wouldn't that look great at night in the summer, or in the winter, if you cannot see dead tropicals, all around the swimming pool? Man, makes me want to give a party!!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Just checked out the site to buy them, and they are really reasonable. I think I may get two for each side of the deck.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

I'll try to get a good night shot of ours.
We have tomato cage christmas trees scattered around the yard also.
It looks rather strange at night.

The light up 'mingo is visible from all sides and easily seen from 75'.
We have it in front of a 7' tall stand of Musa 'Bordelon.
They glow pink at night.

Here's our bamboo/flamingo alley.

Roz, I love your flamingo! They look great....don't listen to your kids1 LOL Is that Milky Way and BOP in the background? That is a great pic!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I LOVE that picture. What a great shot.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Thanks Roz!
I think the PPF get a bad rap myself.
Plus they are much hardier than the books tell you.
I think at least Zone 5a....maybe 4b w/ proper mulching!
