whew! even though i grew up in a tropical climate, i guess i've acclimated--this heat (index today was 100 +) is getting to me. how do YOU manage? how's your garden managing?

it's SO hot in michigan that...............
It's so hot that:
... my words turn to steam. Then, when they hit the shade, they condense again but it sounds like some one talking gibberish.
... all I can get to come out of the hose is steam.
... you think there's some one throwing firecrackers in the garden - but it's just the corn popping.

i hear ya al. scary but what you said made sense to me LOL.
i went out to check on the community garden today and actually weeded and picked tomatoes with the mister system running--i got wet but who cares!
baggy shorts, zorii, and a wet hat. then back into the AC. when i rinsed my feet off to come in the hose water was HOT. gaaaa.
It's so hot that all the nice mud my dogs had this spring has turned into bricks in their part of the yard and they won't go out anymore.
Its hot enough I might finally have some success growing watermelons this year.
sylvi--sounds like pretty smart dogs you have there!

It is so hot here that when I tried to poach eggs in my water garden they became hard boiled. So I used them in tator salad and had the Koi for dessert. I never fail to take advantage of a bad situation...
Just kidding, but man was it HOT!
