Unknown Hibiscus Bloomed

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

I got this as a gift from a friend and I have no clue to the name...I can't even describe the colors of the bloom..

That's beautiful.

This looks similar to Anderson Crepe Hibiscus...which is my favorite. Does it weep--like a willow? Bloom profusely? Have foliage on almost every surface of the stem??

Here's a photo of ours. I will send a close up next.

The blooms are not the same colors..but yes there are leaves all up and down the stems...Mine is almost a lt. peach color with dark pink coloring in the center..all the blooms hang downwards..I was holding up the bloom to take a better picture of it...

Hey, Moodene, would you be willing to share a cutting off yours? It sure is pretty!!

I can get a rooted plant for you...from the guy who I got this from...Jerry at Jerry's Jungle has this..he gave me this hibiscus...

Hi Moodene & all:
Your unknown plant is an old hawaiian variety that has some names, but the most commonly used is "Pink Psyche".

Carlos

Moodene--I would love a plant or cutting of this as well--or even seed!! Very nice!! I never knew I had such a weakness for Hibiscus as has been revealed in the last couple of years! hehehe Bonnie

LOL..so far it has not set any seeds yet..will be watching closely..I will see about more rooted hibs..after this storm goes away..it is in my neck of the woods..I lived close to Beaumont and we are riding out the storm....

Take care out there, Nadene! Y'all will be in my prayers.

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks...I will be here on line until my lights goes out..

Oh I will say prayers for you. And for dear Daisymae.

My sister who evacuated from New Orleans and moved to Houston for the interim is stuck in a wooden hotel in Houston with her family. She is afraid to drive out for there is no gas!!

She thinks she will be stranded on the highway and die there when Rita hits. I am begging her to leave the hotel and go to a hospital to wait the storm out. I am sick with worry.

Well Daisymae is the only one that isn't locked up yet..it isn't raining yet..when it does..I will make sure she gets inside my house to my BIG bathroom ..her bed is already made up..lol...along with her food bowl and treats...and a thick layer of newspapers for potty time..lol

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Ahhh, take some pics of my favorite pig when she is all set up Nadine!

Kell,

I will hold you and your sister in my prayers.

Ok..I will....may have to go drag her butt in ..lol..she still wants to stay in her outside house... the wind and rain is on the back side of it tho...
