This just open...my newly purchased Iris ensata 'Sorcerer's Triumph'...what a flower! Had to share this one. One local nursery was selling it for $15.95 but shopping around I picked it up for only $6.95. It is certainly my favourite flower right now.
My current favourite plant
Just lovely Todd. My Pink Frost just quit a few days ago. I was just looking at your threads in the Rock garden forum. Thanks for sharing your pics of all these plants with us. I'm sure enjoying them.
That's a beautiful flower. I've never seen one like it.
That is definitely gorgeous!

It's beautiful Todd.
What a gorgeous flower.
Funny thing (as you were saying on a different forum) about blooming times. The iris in Ottawa are LONG gone.

mother nature did a good job of colouring in those purple veins. Beautifiul Todd

Hi, that flower is brilliant!
I'm a beginer Iris person so can you please advise of height and if it's a wet or well drained one? I don't seem to have the right spot for the wet/marginal Iris's so I am sticking to the others.
Ann the other one.
Annabell, the Japanese iris need a consistently moist soil. They get about 2-3 feet. May be too dry in Edmonton unless you make a specific 'bog' like garden.
Thanks Todd
I'll just have to watch for your colorfull posts. I hope to do the bog thing in a few years as I have an ideal spot in the garden to try but till then .........

That's the beauty of waterliles...they do look so perfect, even if they only last a few days.
